課程目標 Course Objectives
The aim of the course is to acquire a level of Spanish close to the Vantage Level (B2,中高級) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Accordingly, the expectations are that the students “Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization. [that they] Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. [that they] Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.”

課程概述 Course description
To achieve the above objectives the class is divided in three sections:
1. The first one focuses on Listening and the material used is a video belonging to the book Viaje al Español. The student will be assigned to answer 12 short questions on the video.
2. The second one focuses on news Comprehension taken from Spanish newspapers of that day. Every time a different student will be assigned to translate such material.
3. The third one focuses on discussing (Conversation) that particular news (essay). It is expected that the student will produced a critical essay (Composition) on that news (essay).
(The plan will be adjusted to the level, needs, suggestions and requirement of the students).

課程要求 Requirements
The student should have passed the Spanish II level. If s/he haven’t studied this course in NTU can take the Advanced Course as long s/he is able to certify that has such level.

評量方式 Grading
There are will be two exams. But, since the knowledge acquisition is progressive, the first one will account only for the 10% of the total. The second one if the most important and amounts for the 75% of the final grade. The other 15% refers to attitude of the student (participation 5%, assignments 5%, attitude 5%)
